Our 6-week playgroup program combines the expertise of TWO licensed Speech-Language Therapists  with the power of play and peer learning. Children practice communication skills they’ll actually use – at home and with friends – all while having fun and making lasting friendships.

FAQs

Q: Does my child need a diagnosis to join? A: No! Any child ages 4-7 who would benefit from communication support is welcome.

Q: How is this different from a regular playgroup? A: We’re led by licensed SLPs who design every activity to build specific communication skills. It’s play with a purpose!

Q: What if my child is very shy or has challenging behaviors? A: Our small group size and SLP expertise mean we can support a range of needs. Contact us to discuss your specific concerns.

Q: Do parents need to be in the session? This playgroup is designed to promote independence, so parents do not need to stay during sessions. However, we will provide handouts and ask parents to prepare some materials, such as family photos and simple snacks for your child.

Q: Can I observe? Due to our small space, this is a drop-off and pick-up program. Parents are welcome to come in at the end of each session to catch up with our therapists about your child’s progress.

Q: What is the group size? A: We keep groups small with a maximum of 5 children to ensure personalized attention from our two speech-language therapists.

Q: How do I know if my child is ready?
A: We conduct a brief screening before enrollment to ensure the playgroup is a good fit. Your child should have a functional language level of approximately 2.5-3 years and be able to participate in small group activities.

Q: What if my child needs to miss a session?
A: Please let us know as soon as possible. While we cannot offer makeup sessions, we’ll provide materials and handouts so you can practice at home.

Q: Is there a waitlist?

A: Yes! If the current session is full, we maintain a waitlist and will contact you for the next available session.
