Auditory-Verbal Therapy
FOR CHILDREN WITH HEARING LOSS
Auditory-Verbal Therapy is a highly specialised intervention approach that aims to help children with hearing loss to develop listening and spoken language skills. This service will be provided by our speech-language therapist who is a Listening and Spoken Language Specialist (LSLS) certified Auditory-Verbal Therapist (AVT). This service is provided via both tele-practice or in-person (home-based).
AVT is a family-centred program that focuses on guiding and coaching families to implement teaching strategies in day-to-day activities and conversations with their child. The idea is to facilitate the development of listening and spoken language skills. Parents can be the best teachers for their child. Let us show you how.
Speech-language & Swallowing Therapy
FOR ADULTS
Adults require speech-language therapy for a variety of reasons. Most adults engage in speech-language therapy due to a range of communication and swallowing issues. Some may want to improve their public speaking skills due to voice or fluency difficulties. Our speech-language therapists have received extensive training in working with the adult population. We provide home visits, services to nursing homes and the option of tele-practice.
Speech-language therapy for adults focuses on the individuals’ needs and practical goals.
For communication difficulties, you will be asked about the nature of your difficulties, its impact on you, and your expected outcomes from therapy. We will assess all the relevant aspects of your speech, language and communication before formulating a diagnosis and designing a personalised care plan, in consultation with you and your family.
For swallowing difficulties, you will be asked about your medical history and diet and details of the difficulties. We will examine your oral-motor structure and functions. You will be asked to try on various food consistencies and techniques to determine the safest way for you to swallow. The goal is clear: to help you sustain a safe oral feeding at your best ability.
Speech-language Therapy
FOR CHILDREN WITH SPEECH-LANGUAGE DIFFICULTIES
Each child indeed develops at their own pace. Still, if you notice your child does not meet a milestone in their language development, they will benefit from a speech-language assessment to determine if it needs to be intervened.
Our speech-language therapists are certified and experienced in managing different speech-language difficulties a child may encounter. It begins with an assessment to identify the areas of concern, followed by feedback and discussion about the treatment plan with the family.
We believe in a family-centred approach, and therefore, you will be a significant part of the therapy program to ensure a successful outcome. Please work with us to know how we make it happen.
Speaking & Training Engagement
Our specialist speech-language therapists have extensive experience in providing lectures, training and awareness talks for parents, professionals and the public at large.
Training contents related to AVT include:
- Auditory-Verbal Techniques and Strategies
- Importance of Early Detection and Intervention in Paediatric Hearing Loss
Our LSLS Cert. AVT also provides mentorship to professionals who aspire to become certified LSLS or wish to learn and improve their skill set in Listening and Spoken Language Approach.
Training contents for the adult population include:
- Role of nursing home caregivers in detecting signs of swallowing difficulties among elderly
- Tips to enhance the quality of communication in dementia

Cost of
Speech-language Therapy
Standard therapy appointments are usually 60 minutes. On average, the session costs in Malaysia approximately RM170-RM 220 per hour (travel fee is excluded). Therapy packages with a slight cost reduction are available.
Travel costs
Travel charges in the range of RM30-RM80 will be applied and can vary according to the area. Travel charges will be confirmed upon appointment confirmation. Covered areas vary according to the therapists’ schedules. Do contact us to find out more.
Cancellation policy
Cancellation of a confirmed appointment with less than 12 hours of notice and missed appointments will incur full fees. Please contact the therapist ASAP if you cannot make it to the appointment.
Refund policy
For the convenience of our clients, Speak2Me offers a package of therapy sessions at a discounted rate. We recognise that exceptional circumstances might happen, we will try to be more accommodating in such circumstances. For genuine reasons, we could consider refunding of unused portion of the paid package.
